Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born 20th of August 1974 in Aviano Italy) American actress, most well-known for her critically acclaimed performances of naive and charming characters. Adams was one of seven children who lived as a child in the city of Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams was born when her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. In the mid-1990s she began professional dancing and acting in Colorado's Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. In the following year, in Minnesota in a small local theatre, she was a chosen to be a part of an unrealized documentary film about beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous. After her screen debut that was successful, in which she played an unfriendly, but obnoxious contestant, Janet moved to Los Angeles where she began a professional acting career. The husband of her Tony Curtis was her partner between June 1950 and September 1992. She had two children, Kelly Curtis as well as Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by actress Norma Shearer and signed a contract to work for MGM during the 1940s. She appeared in a range of cult films over the following decade, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) and Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
