Heidi's mother was the production manager at 4711 Parfum. She grew up in her birthplace in Bergisch Gladbach a city of about 100,000 residents only six miles to the east of Cologne. Heidi Klum is a former model from Germany and America who is a television host and producer as well as fashion designer. Klum had to compete against 25,000 contestants across Germany and Europe before being selected as one of the three semifinalists. Then, in April 1992, Klum won the top prize of $300,000.
